We made corn meal waffles with the Jiffy Corn Muffin mix for lunch the other day. The directions are right on the side of the box. Makes 3 waffles. Takes about 15 minutes. And it's delicious. We topped ours with vanilla yogurt, bananas, and some of our fresh strawberries that had been frozen. For added fun, the kids put sprinkles on theirs, because everything just takes better with sprinkles, especially the green and red Christmas ones when it's 100 degrees in the middle of July.
And because I had a jar of Modge Podge laying around from another project and because the kiddos ask if they can have just about every empty carton, box, or bottle for their play kitchen I took the Jiffy box and Modge Podged it to a piece of 2x4 that was well sanded. Now the "box" will withstand being stepped on and squished in the midst of play and I won't feel the need to recycle it within moments of handing it over.
What are my children doing in the midst of these little project rabbit trails, you ask? Generally terrorizing the house, each other, or sitting around in their skivvies looking at library books.
