Some weekends are for...

...doing the projects for which you already have the supplies.

BEFORE

AFTER

I didn't come up with this idea. I read it somewhere. But it's totally true. Rule #1 for home organization: Do the projects for which you already have the supplies before heading into another project, acquiring a bunch more supplies and letting them pile up in the craft closet, the garage, or the middle of your kitchen. I am terrible at this. So is my mom. That's the trouble with creativity, it's always stirring something new.

Back in July, I decided to combat the urge to dive into a long awaited weekend project and instead finish up a few things that were sitting around waiting to get done. It felt good.

I finished putting out the last of the mulch that was piled on the driveway and I got that crazy apple tree staked in the hopes that it might start growing straight.

We put up this really cool garden hose hanger that I bought two months ago.

We put up the flower boxes that we painted nearly 3 months ago.

And we put solar lights in the garden that I purchased on super clearance last year.

Man, that feels good.
